Damien Atkinson has practised as a barrister since 1995, specialising in commercial, medico-legal and personal injuries work. He regularly appears in all Courts for both Plaintiffs and Defendants, as well as acting as a mediator in disputes.
He graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws with Honours. He also has a Masters of Law from the University of Cambridge with First Class Honours, together with the Lady Foundress’s Prize for Law from Pembroke College.
He was appointed as Counsel Assisting to both the Morris Inquiry and the Davies Inquiry into the Bundaberg Hospital. He has appeared in several major commercial cases.
He is also the Chair of the Youth Advocacy Centre in Brisbane, which deals with case work and policy concerning young people.
